Khama Rhino Sanctuary is a community-based wildlife project. This reserve has a healthy population of rhino and there is a good chance of rhino sighting. The park also has a variety of other game species and is an excellent location for bird watching. The gates open at 08:00 daily and close at 19:00. On arrival at the Sanctuary, you will find friendly staff to welcome you and assist you. Firewood can be bought at the shop, as well as ice, cold drinks, and basic provisions. There is also a craft shop selling various local crafts, books, maps, souvenirs, and postcards. There is the added attraction of a restaurant and pool to make your stay more pleasant.
At Khama Rhino Sanctuary, enjoy well-maintained campsites or self-catering chalets with en-suite bathrooms. Accessible by standard vehicles, the campsites and chalets are just a short drive from the entrance gate.
Rustic chalets accommodate two or four guests, equipped with bedding, towels, basic cooking gear, and barbecue facilities, with an on-site restaurant for meals.
Choose from 13 campsites, ideal for groups, featuring shade from large Mokongwa trees, a fireplace, braai stand, and tap with birdbath, along with two communal ablution blocks.

Khama Rhino Sanctuary is situated on the main road between Serowe and Orapa. It is an ideal stopover between Maun and South Africa and an excellent starting point if you want to visit the eastern side of the Central Kalahari or visit Kubu Island on the Makgadigadi Pans.
The Sanctuary’s roads are sandy and a 4x4 vehicle is preferable if you prefer self-drive game viewing. Guided game drives, rhino trails and nature walks can be booked and are supervised by well-trained and truly knowledgeable rangers. Morning drives and night drives are available. There are a swimming pool and restaurant.
BOTSWANA ACCOMMODATION
Khama Rhino Sanctuary is not far from Francistown, Botswana's second city. If you prefer our type of accommodation, you will like Woodlands Stopover's self-catering (self-contained) accommodation and camping. If you prefer something more luxurious, try the Thapama Hotel in the center of the CBD or the Marang Gardens Hotel, known for its magnificent gardens. All these hotels and lodges are the perfect destination for both business people and those on their way to the Okavango Delta or Zimbabwe.
If you use Khama Rhino Sanctuary as a stopover between Gauteng and the Okavango Delta, try to stay at least two nights. We offer so much more than just accommodation. Use Maun Accommodation to select the lodge of your choice at the Gateway to the Okavango Delta. Many people will travel from Khama Rhino Sanctuary to Chobe. Nata Lodge is in Nata, halfway between Khama Rhino Sanctuary and Kasane.
NAMIBIA TOURS AND LODGES
Temba Namibia is well-known for excellent tailor-made tours to Namibia, and you can certainly contact them if you plan a safari to Namibia after your visit to Botswana and Khama Rhino Sanctuary. Ask them to include the Caprivi in the far north of Namibia, where they use lodges such as Kwando Camp, Mazambala Island Lodge, Lianshulu, Namushasha Country Lodge, and Ngepi Camp. After your visit to the Caprivi, Etosha National Park will most likely be your next stop. Stay a few days at Halali, the most central rest camp in Etosha. In Swakopmund, the coastal resort, you can stay at the Swakopmund Hotel and Entertainment Centre, which is a luxury hotel and makes use of the old German station. You will, however, need to overnight between Khama Rhino Sanctuary and Swakopmund, and we recommend the famous Windhoek Country Club and Casino in the capital city of our neighbors. While in Namibia, make sure that you visit Sossusvlei with its high sand dunes. Sossusvlei Desert Camp self-catering (self-contained) accommodation is of the same high standard as that of Khama Rhino Sanctuary. The Fish River Canyon is to Namibia what Khama Rhino Sanctuary is to Botswana. Near the Fish River Canyon are the famous hot springs, Ai-Ais Resort & Spa.
ZIMBABWE LODGES
Zimbabwe, which lies just east of Botswana and Khama Rhino Sanctuary, is a dream destination for eco-tourists. The Hwange Safari Lodge at Hwange offers self-catering accommodation available in the park.
